Studio · Live · Location · Broadcast
I'm Monty, a Tonmeister-trained audio engineer working across studio production, live sound, broadcast, and location recording.
Studio sessions across jazz, pop/rock, and classical — plus wider genre experience — from tracking through to final mix, plus editing and mixing for short films and documentaries.
Front-of-house for small venues and events, freelance broadcast and filming work, and location concert recording.
Concert and event recording on-site, with the same attention to detail as a treated room, wherever the job takes me.
I trained as a Tonmeister in the UK, graduating with First Class Honours and receiving the Focusrite Prize for Technical Achievement and the Rupert Flindt Recording Prize, with a placement year at the Royal Academy of Music in London. I now work as an independent engineer across studio, live, and location settings — from a relaxed control room to a loud front-of-house desk to a single mic in a field — bringing the same ear and the same discipline to every job, whatever the room looks like.
New Dawn Audio covers all of it under one roof — recording, production, and post; front-of-house, broadcast, and location capture.
